Trade routes of Pakistan - Afghanistan

(9 posts)
  1. Assalam-o-Alaikum-Warahmat-ULLAH ALL,

    I am watching the program Live With Talat – 16th March 2010

    In it, Talat points at the most! important trade routes of Pakistan - Afghanistan

    I'm in favour of MORE! programs that make us aware! about our own land. That show us our strengths. Yet more! importantly that show us our! weaknesses!.

    We Muslims desperately need to explore our own land, our own people, our own cultures.

    For example, looking at this area, I feel;

    (1) A great sense of unity among Muslims of both Pakistan and Afghanistan
    (2) A great connection with the land, the people there
    (3) how little, how meaningless is that which divides us/Muslims
    (4) how injustice, corruption, bad governance, lack of jobs, lack of opportunities has impacted our people for generations after generations, decades after decades
    (5) to detest our individual and collective ignorance which keeps us subjugated, keeps us in strife, in pain, in suffering, in slavery with consistency
    (6) etc etc

  2. Assalam-o-Alaikum-Warahmat-ULLAH ALL,

    If there is peace, if these central Asian trade routes are activated, they alone can generate more than enough revenue for Pakistan, for Afghanistan, for Iran, that we would not need to have grueling taxes in Pakistan, in Afghanistan.

    This is yet another example, which makes me resent our 'opportunistic' rulers.

  4. Assalam-o-Alaikum-Warahmat-ULLAH ALL,

    That is Afghanistan's internal matter. They have to deal with it. Unless they ask us to intervene, we cannot.

    Having said that, I don't believe Afghani people will throw away legitimate opportunities for economic improvement for their state.

  7. Assalam-o-Alaikum-Warahmat-ULLAH ALL,

    @RajputPuttar: Who's holding our rulers responsible for their misconduct ?

    @achtung: What the heck ?!?!!!

    Pehle khud Army loago'n ko maarti hai, phir us par shor machati hai ke;

    ham to innocent hain. Koee aur dehshat-gardi phela raha hai

    Aap ka ya Army ka dimagh theek hai ?

    Army is doing all of this.

    (a) Why don't you question Army about it ?
    (b) Why are you bothering me with it ?
    (c) Why are you holding me responsible for Army's decisions ?
    (d) Why are you holding me responsible for Army's actions ?

    Since 1999 - to-date, ALL decisions that have been made, were made by Army.

    (a) Why don't you question Army about it ?
    (b) Why are you bothering me with it ?
    (c) Why are you holding me responsible for Army's decisions ?
    (d) Why are you holding me responsible for Army's actions ?

    This trade route is unprotected and also very difficult because Afghanistan dont have railway infrastructure and also because of Taliban's existence in Afghanistan and Pakistan and I think this trade route is a reason why USA declare WOT strategy of PakAfghan AFPAK strategy as they are looking to secure this route from Taliban in order to counter future influence of Russia and China in Central Asia.....Their is another project of TAPI gas pipeline under proposal from Turkmenistan, Afghanistan and Pakistan and might include India as well which passes through this route and its a counter deal of Iran Pakistan pipeline but now as Chinese are persuading Iran so the deal of Iran Pakistan unaffected despite Pakistan was getting more benefits from TAPI....Its also a got historical significant as having one of the route of Silk road which joined Europe with central Asia, China and Mongolia so that is why this region is a center of attraction for both China and USA and here Pakistan is playing a role of double agent as Pakistan is building a bridge between Iran and China as well as by stopping Taliban Pakistan is also giving way for USA to enter Russia as Russians are threat to long term goals of Pakistan because if they got influence they will go for Baluchistan as well while USA is very far away from this land so they will always require someone to safeguard their interest and that someone is most probably Pakistan because of having religious and cultural influence which Russians lack....but what ever the situation going on here its a win win for Pakistan as if Russians and Chinese able to control the region then Chinese wont let Russian get their hands on Pakistan and they will be able to reach out to middle east and Africa even but if USA able to control this region then they will require someone to safeguard their interest they cant stay here for ever due to economic cost they will bear to defend their control in the region now its up to Pakistan to play their part cleverly because one bad step every thing gone...
