The party meeting decided not to adopt apologetic attitude over the attack, and directed its parliamentarians and office bearers from Rawalpindi to mobilise people in favour of its candidate Shakeel Awan and tackle propaganda launched by Sheikh Rashid and the PML-Q.</p> <p>PML-N legislators told the party high command that Awan’s position was still better than that of Rashid, and Nawaz should address public gatherings in the constituency to further improve the party’s chances of winning the elections. It was also observed that winning the Rawalpindi election was very important for the party as it had already lost the Mansehra by-election. It was also pointed out that the attack on Rashid could be a conspiracy against the party by its opponents.
