Thank you for above. I don't know what it tells others. I take it that Cobra was a west heli. If so, I see it as a wholly encouraging sign that the militants, the ones fighting our battles for us, have found ways to combat air power as well.

Wednesday, 10 Feb, 2010
--------------------------------------------------------

PESHAWAR: A military helicopter crashed while in action against militants in Pakistan’s northwest tribal belt on the Afghan border on Wednesday, officials said.

The fate of the two people on board was not immediately clear.

The Cobra helicopter was engaged in an operation against militants in the Tirah valley of Khyber, a lawless district that straddles Nato supply lines into Afghanistan, said local administration chief Shafeerullah Wazir.

“It was a Cobra helicopter. It crashed during an operation against suspected militant hideouts in the area,” he told AFP by telephone.

A military official confirmed that an attack helicopter crashed, but said the fate of its pilot and co-pilot was not known.

“We are trying to get details about the cause of the accident and fate of the pilots,” military spokesman Major General Athar Abbas said.
-------------------------------------------------------------------

What does this tell us ?

But the west is prolapsing as well. Economically they are toast, as one likes to say, done for, over. They apparently want one more big war, however, before they go out. Nuclear this time and, if possible, against Russia and China or both, or whatever. Sheer insanity!

Assalam-o-Alaikum-Warahmat-ULLAH ALL,

Nope. They won't learn any lessons. They have geared up for the last crusade.

They have tripled their military budget this year. That is not an indication of them having learned any lessons. That is an indication that they are moving forward with their 'plan'.

The carnage happening in Afghanistan, in Iraq, in Africa, in Yemen were all 'pre-planned'.

Our nation, our people, unfortunately think the west is joking around.

where's the with-us-or-against-us jargon now??? the mujahideen in afghanistan and iraq have brought the sole super power to her knees... look at how these arrogant americans have been humbled! they're stuck in afghanistan, big time, and their only hope is to be able to use the pakistan army.

i think it is time for russia to take revenge - they would want the U.S to bleed to death!

NATO always wanted to pay for "bilateral deals" to transport military cargoes and personnel across Russian territory, but their price tag is very high compared with dirt cheap price tag of Pakistan.

New Russian military strategy names NATO as chief threat
Russian president Dmitry Medvedev on Friday, 6.2.10, signed a new version of its main military strategy document which named NATO expansion as one of the chief threats to the country's security.

Don't take anything Nato says about Russia (or anything else for that matter) seriously. Nato is enemy number one for Russia and now that fact is enshrined in the latest version of their militaty doctrine.

All that Russia wants is to keep West trapped as long as possible in Afghanistan. China has the same wish, so has India and - if one can read between the lines - Pakistan follows the same policy. The longer they remain in Afghanistan, the quicker the West downfall.

India and now Russia, US is ally both of Pakistan's friendly countries.

MOSCOW (Reuters) - NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen asked Russia on Wednesday to give the Western military alliance more help in Afghanistan but failed to get an immediate pledge of assistance from the Kremlin

Rasmussen, who is trying to secure more support for the fight against the Taliban after U.S. President Barack Obama pledged 30,000 more troops, said Russia could up its efforts by contributing more helicopters.

"I have invited Russia to strengthen Russia's terms of cooperation in Afghanistan," the former Danish prime minister said after meeting President Dmitry Medvedev in the Kremlin.

The NATO chief later said that he had asked Russian leaders to allow the alliance to fly cargoes -- including possibly military ones -- over Russian territory to Afghanistan and to provide more helicopters for the Afghan armed forces.

Russia says NATO members such as the United States, France, Germany and Spain already have bilateral deals to transport military cargoes and personnel across Russian territory.
http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE5BF38D20091216

President Vladimir V. Putin has been invited by the Czech Republic's president, Vaclav Havel, to attend NATO summit talks scheduled for Prague in November, the Czech foreign minister said during a visit to Moscow. Nine east European countries once under Soviet control will attend the meeting, which will center on their applications to join the 19-nation alliance. Russia opposes NATO expansion but has softened its stance since NATO voted last month to give Moscow a voice in setting policy on some issues like fighting terrorism.
